Summer Make Up

Summer Make Up
In summer our make-up routine needs to change the humid warmer weather is a challenge and it’s not a good look to have melting foundation, dark sliding black eyeliner and sticky messy lipstick!  Summer make up should be light and natural. Always remember to apply SPF to your face and neck first!  Below are a few steps for creating a flawless light look this summer.

Primer
You should always apply a primer after your moisturiser with SPF and before your foundation. Primer sets your skin and provides a smooth base it also helps to keep your make-up in place all day, I always use Inglot Under Make Up Base €20.00.

Foundation

Face-It Studio Anti-Aging Foundation
love a good coverage foundation that can take me from morning to night, I still like a flawless finish especially during summer days as the light is very unforgiving.  I am completely obsessed by Face-It Studio the new Anti-Aging Foundation. RRP €34.99, not only is it light and natural it also contains Duo-Peptides that help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and another magic ingredient NutriLayer which is a breakthrough natural extract which helps the skin retain its original moisture level.  This foundation lasts all day and I have to say it is by far my favourite product at the moment, I also love that Face-it is an Irish company http://www.face-itstudio.com.

Loose Setting Powder
Finish foundation with a light dusting of loose powder especially on the forehead and noise.  Setting powder absorbs oil, will fight shine especially on hot days/nights and a little goes a long way. Apply using a large Kabuki brush.  I use High Definition loose setting powder from Face-it €22.50.

Bronzed Babe
Bronzer is a must; it makes your eyes brighter and adds warmth, a glow and definition to your face.  Be careful when applying bronzer as you do not want to look orange!  Make sure to shake off excess and then apply to face using a smaller brush not a large kabuki brush.  Suck in your cheeks and apply in a sweeping motion from hollows up to cheek bone.  Add a little to the top of your forehead and bridge of noise, you can also apply with a large kabuki brush to shoulder blades.  You cannot go wrong with RIMMELL Sun Bronze €7.00, I have used this for years!

Pretty Blush
To give cheeks a natural, dewy flush try a cream blusher, you can use with or without bronzer depending on the look you want to achieve.  For a natural look dab a little onto your finger tips and tap on to the apples of your cheeks, make sure to blend well.   Inglot have a great array of summer cream blush colours all €15.

Summer Eyes
Natural pastel colours are bang on trend for summer 2012 and pinks look fabulous on darker sun kissed skin try Face-it Crystal Pink €10.50  all over the eye and then add Face-it Mulberry €10.50 into the socket  and outer corner of eyes in a half circle motion to add definition. If you want to turn your day look into night then simply add a darker grey shade of shadow to the eye socket blending upwards then sweeping under eyes.  Add some sparkle with Inglot Glitter pots €15.00.  I would recommend using gel eyeliner as it stays in place all night, try swapping black for brown for a less severe look, I love Inglot Gel Eye Liners all €15.

Tinting
I always tint my eye lashes dark black during the summer months and this means I do not have to use lashings of mascara during the day, even the darkest of lashes can benefit from a tint and it lasts up to 6 weeks!  You could also tint your eye brows; I cannot live without this treatment. It   saves time and takes the harsh look of pencil away.  I love tinted brows for a sleek finished look.

Lip-gloss

Inglot Holographic Gloss
Finish your summer look with a slick of lip gloss, I adore Vaseline Rose not only does this little gem protect your lips and keep s them kissable it also have a lovely rose tint, perfect for summer days.  If you want to add some wow factor for evening time try the fabulous Inglot Holographic Gloss €16.00 this changes colours and I love it for a night out!
